When you picture your elopement day, what do you see? Maybe it’s you and the person you love most, standing together on a cliff or in a forest, choosing each other without all the noise.
That’s the kind of story I’m here to tell.
I’m Jo, a Minnesota-based elopement photographer with a pair of worn-in Blundstones, a camera that feels like an extension of my hand, and a heart forever connected to places across the globe.
I grew up overseas, surrounded by the cultures of Türkiye and Afghanistan. It was there I first learned how deeply stories matter. That way of seeing the world, with reverence, softness, and curiosity, has shaped everything about how I show up for the couples I serve. A few years ago, my husband and I found ourselves tangled in the expectations of a traditional wedding. It didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel like us.
So we let it all go, and eloped on a mountain in North Carolina instead. No pressure. No performance. Just us, the earth beneath our feet, and the promises we made to one another.
That day changed everything. It planted the seed for Elope with Jo, a space built on freedom, intention, and connection.
Because your love story? It’s not meant to be confined into a mold.
It’s meant to unfold naturally, unapologetically you.
I’m not here to stage fake moments. I’m here to hold space for the real ones. My mission is to help you feel seen, to honor your story, and to create images that feel as alive and soul-filled as the day itself.
I’m so honored you’re here. Truly.
If you’re dreaming about an intentional, nature-rooted elopement day, I would be thrilled to help you bring it to life. You can reach out here, and I’d love to hear your story.
Here’s to doing things your way.
Here’s to love, wild and free.
Jo
